Product Overview
Hot Dip Galvanized Steel (commonly referred to as GI) is one of the most widely used anti-corrosion steel materials in the world. Our GI products are manufactured from high-quality cold-rolled low-carbon steel substrate, through fully automatic processes including degreasing, pickling activation, hot-dip galvanizing, passivation and oiling. By immersing the steel strip in molten zinc bath at approximately 460°C, a uniform and dense zinc-iron alloy layer and pure zinc layer are formed on the steel surface. Through the dual protection mechanism of sacrificial anode protection and physical barrier, it effectively isolates water vapor, oxygen and corrosive media from the substrate, significantly extending the service life of steel by 3-5 times.
With smooth surface, uniform spangle, flat shape, excellent formability, weldability and corrosion resistance, our GI products are widely used in construction, automotive, home appliances, furniture and many other fields, making them the preferred anti-corrosion material for industrial manufacturing and engineering construction.

FAQ
Q1: What is the difference between hot-dip galvanized steel and electro-galvanized steel?
A: Hot-dip galvanized (GI) has thicker zinc coating (30-275g/m²) with excellent corrosion resistance, suitable for outdoor and high-corrosion environments; electro-galvanized (EG) has thinner zinc coating (10-40g/m²) with smoother surface, mainly used for home appliance interiors and mild corrosion environments. Hot-dip galvanized has lower cost and 3-5 times longer corrosion protection life than electro-galvanized.
Q2: How to choose the appropriate zinc coating thickness?
A: General recommendation: Z60-Z90 for indoor dry environments; Z120-Z180 for normal outdoor environments; Z200-Z275 for high-corrosion/coastal areas. Thicker zinc coating provides longer corrosion protection life.
Q3: Can GI steel be painted directly?
A: Yes. We recommend surface preparation first (remove oil, light sanding), use special galvanized paint or epoxy primer for good adhesion. We also provide pre-painted color coated products (PPGI).
Q4: What is white rust and how to prevent it?
A: White rust is zinc oxide corrosion product formed on galvanized layer in humid environments. Prevention measures: 1) Keep dry and ventilated during transportation and storage; 2) Use our passivation + oiling surface treatment; 3) Avoid water ingress when stacked.
Q5: What payment methods and trade terms are supported?
A: We support multiple payment methods including T/T, L/C; trade terms including FOB, CIF, EXW; small trial orders are accepted, mixed container loading is supported.
