The essential differences between aluminized zinc coil and galvanized coil lie in four aspects: coating composition, corrosion resistance, processing characteristics, and applicable scenarios.

 

In terms of coating composition, galvanized coil's coating is mainly pure zinc or a zinc alloy, with a simpler composition; aluminized zinc coil has an aluminum, zinc, and silicon alloy coating, with a more complex composition.

 

Regarding corrosion resistance, aluminized zinc coil, due to the aluminum content forming a dense oxide film, has 2-5 times the corrosion resistance of galvanized coil, and superior weather resistance and salt spray resistance, making it suitable for long-term outdoor use; galvanized coil relies solely on zinc as a sacrificial anode for protection, making it prone to corrosion in harsh environments.

 

In terms of processing characteristics, aluminized zinc coil has stronger coating adhesion and better weldability and paintability, but care must be taken to avoid coating cracking during stretching and bending; galvanized coil is more flexible in processing and has slightly better tensile properties.

 

In terms of applicable scenarios, aluminized zinc coil is suitable for outdoor construction and highly corrosive environments; galvanized coil is suitable for indoor components and scenarios requiring light corrosion protection.
