Overview

Kitchen environments present unique challenges for metal components. Range hoods operate in high-heat, grease-laden air that causes ordinary steel surfaces to degrade rapidly. At Shandong Pinjie, we developed our specialized oil-resistant galvanized steel sheet for range hood applications after 12 years of working with appliance manufacturers across 50 countries. This material solves the three most persistent problems in range hood construction: oil adhesion, difficult cleaning, and premature corrosion.
Why standard galvanized steel fails in kitchen environments
Ordinary galvanized sheet metal works well for general construction, but kitchen conditions create a more aggressive corrosion environment. Standard hot dip galvanized steel provides basic rust protection, but its surface still allows cooking oils and grease to penetrate microscopic pores. Over time, these oils polymerize and bond permanently to the surface.
Regular steel surfaces require harsh chemical cleaners and extensive scrubbing. The cleaning process itself often damages the original galvanized coating, creating entry points for moisture and kitchen acids. Field tests from appliance manufacturers show standard galvanized range hood panels show visible corrosion signs after 3-5 years of normal use.

Product performance and application advantages
Our oil-resistant galvanized steel sheet for range hood uses high-quality galvanized steel sheet as the base material. We adopt standardized hot dip galvanizing process. The galvanized coating forms a firm metallurgical combination with the substrate. It provides lasting corrosion protection for the sheet. The surface of our galvanized sheet metal has good flatness and coating uniformity. It can adapt to stamping, bending and other forming processes of range hood shells.
We optimize the surface treatment formula. Our oil-resistant galvanized steel sheet for range hood has excellent oil stain resistance. Oil stains are not easy to adhere to the board surface. Users can clean it easily. It keeps the appearance of range hood clean and tidy for a long time. This material is very suitable for making range hood shells and internal parts. It can resist the erosion of oil fume and moisture in the kitchen environment. It effectively extends the service life of home appliances.
We can provide Custom color steel sheet for home appliance shell. Customers can choose colors and surface effects according to brand positioning and appearance design. It enhances the added value and market competitiveness of end products. Our products comply with international common quality standards.
Material performance comparison for range hood applications
Our oil-resistant galvanized coating creates a dual-protection system. The base layer uses hot dip galvanized steel with controlled zinc thickness, providing sacrificial corrosion protection. The top layer applies a specialized low-surface-energy coating that reduces surface tension below 20mN/m, preventing oil molecules from bonding with the metal surface.
Independent testing demonstrates this difference. Standard galvanized steel sheet retains 78% of applied cooking oil after a single wipe test. Our oil-resistant formulation retains less than 8% under identical conditions. This performance means end users can clean surfaces with a simple damp cloth, no chemicals required.

Technical specifications and acid resistance performance
Range hoods face regular exposure to cooking vapors containing weak acids from food preparation. Our material undergoes 500 hours of ASTM B117 salt spray testing with no red rust formation. For acid resistance, samples maintain full integrity after 1000 hours exposure to pH 4-6 environments typical of commercial kitchens.
The standard product delivers a 15-year service life under normal residential kitchen conditions. For heavy-use commercial applications, we offer upgraded zinc coating thickness that extends corrosion protection even further.
Customization for different range hood components
We manufacture Custom color steel sheet for home appliance shell applications in precise specifications for each range hood component. Outer panels typically use 0.4-0.6mm thickness with decorative color options. Control panels require 0.5mm material with enhanced surface smoothness. Filter support frames use 0.6-0.8mm gauge for structural rigidity.
Our production lines handle thickness customization from 0.3mm to 0.8mm. We adjust zinc layer thickness based on your market's specific climate and usage conditions. This flexibility allows OEMs to optimize material costs without sacrificing performance.
Production control and quality assurance
We strictly control the production process of hot dip galvanized steel. We ensure the thickness and adhesion of galvanized coating meet standard requirements. The stable production line and quality management system reduce the fluctuation of product quality. It helps customers avoid quality risks in bulk procurement.

Manufacturing capabilities for overseas partners
We have rich experience in overseas supply. We can provide customers with stable delivery and perfect after-sales support. We help customers control procurement costs and avoid hidden charges. Customers can verify product performance and adaptability. It reduces the risk of mismatching between materials and application scenarios.
Unlike large steel mills that require 500+ ton minimum orders, we accept small batch production runs starting at 10 tons. This capability lets overseas factories test new designs and scale production gradually.
Every batch undergoes in-house oil resistance verification using standardized wipe testing. We provide complete material certification packages with each shipment, including test reports and material traceability documentation.
