When selecting materials for building facades, interior panels, or light-duty equipment housings, the trade-off between corrosion resistance and cost often drives the final decision. Over ten years of supplying coated coils to contractors across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and South America, we have seen many projects where expensive austenitic grades are over-specified. For moderate atmospheric exposure and indoor service, a pre-painted ferritic substrate can deliver equivalent aesthetics and service life at a lower material outlay.

Product Substrate & Coating Production Process

Our 410/2B pre-painted stainless coil starts with a martensitic base that offers good hardness, magnetic response, and sufficient strength for most forming operations. The 2B finish provides a smooth, reflective surface after cold rolling and annealing, which serves as an ideal foundation for the coating line. The substrate undergoes degreasing, acid washing, and chemical pretreatment before primer and topcoat layers are roller-applied and heat-cured. We offer paint systems including PE, SMP, PU, HDP, and PVDF, supplied by Akzonobel, Nippon Paint, KCC, or PPG. Total film thickness typically ranges from 5+10μm to 5+25μm, with a reverse-side anti-corrosion coat for double-sided protection. This layered construction resists chalking, peeling, and colour fade under UV exposure, while the wide palette of available shades gives architects design flexibility.

The coil is produced in thicknesses from 0.6 mm upward and widths from 40 mm to 1200 mm. Dimensional accuracy conforms to common export standards, and optional third-party inspection can verify coating adhesion, uniformity, and colour consistency.

A recent overseas installation demonstrates its capability. A mixed-use complex in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, required 25,000 square metres of exterior cladding that could endure tropical humidity and seasonal monsoon rains. Our 410/2B coils with a PVDF topcoat were roll-formed on-site into profile sheets. The coating remained intact at all bend radii-no flaking or delamination occurred during fabrication-and two years of subsequent exposure have shown no visible degradation. That project confirmed the product's suitability for warm, moist climates.

Application Scope & Usage Limitations

Other common uses include metal furniture, ceiling systems, kitchen hardware, booth partitions, HVAC cabinets, and enclosures for light industrial workshops. It is not intended for highly aggressive environments-continuous acid contact or severe marine splash zones-where austenitic grades such as 316L remain necessary. But for the broad range of architectural and light-duty industrial applications, this pre-painted coil provides a practical, economical alternative to solid decorative stainless sheets.

Packaging & Shipment Terms

Each coil is packed with waterproof wrapping, edge protectors, and steel strapping to prevent damage during ocean transit. Shipments leave from Qingdao port, with standard lead times of 20–35 working days after order confirmation. We maintain buffer inventory to support urgent project schedules.
