Product Description

PPGL stands for Pre-painted Galvalume Steel. It uses hot-dip Al-Zn alloy coated steel (55% Al, 43.5% Zn, 1.5% Si) as base material. The production process includes surface pretreatment, organic coating application, and high-temperature curing through fully automated continuous coating lines.

Material Properties

Base material conforms to DX51D+AZ grade low carbon steel. The 55% Al-Zn alloy coating combines aluminum's long-term durability with zinc's galvanic protection. Front coating thickness ranges 10-50μm, back coating 5-50μm. Available coating systems include Polyester (PE), High Durability Polyester (HDP), and Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF).

Manufacturing Process

Production runs on fully automated continuous coating lines. Galvalume coils are uncoiled and welded for continuous processing. Substrates undergo degreasing and chemical conversion treatment. Primer and top coats are applied sequentially with intermediate baking. Final quality inspection verifies coating thickness, adhesion, and color consistency before coiling.

Applications

PPGL roofing sheets serve various commercial and industrial construction projects. Corrugated profiles suit industrial warehouses and logistics facilities for long-span installation. Tile profiles work for residential buildings and agricultural greenhouses balancing aesthetics and function. Coastal projects specify AZ150 heavy coating for salt spray resistance. Hot climate regions benefit from light color PVDF coatings reducing roof temperature by 3-5°C.

Performance Advantages

Corrosion resistance exceeds standard PPGI by 2-3 times. The 55% Al-Zn coating provides self-healing protection at cut edges delaying red rust formation. Excellent heat reflectivity reduces building energy consumption by 15-20% in summer. Lightweight construction (4-6kg/m²) minimizes structural load. Fast installation with sheets up to 12 meters reduces joint points.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the main difference between PPGL and PPGI?
A: PPGL uses 55% Al-Zn alloy coating while PPGI uses pure zinc coating. PPGL offers 2-3 times better corrosion resistance, making it preferred for coastal and high humidity environments.

Q2: How to select appropriate coating system?
A: Standard PE for normal environments; HDP for industrial areas; PVDF for coastal or high UV exposure regions with 15-20 years warranty.

Q3: What is the minimum order quantity?
A: MOQ is 5 metric tons for standard specifications. Custom colors or special gauges require 20 MT MOQ subject to production scheduling.

Q4: What is the typical lead time?
A: 7-10 days for stock items. Custom production requires 15-25 days including manufacturing and quality inspection.

Q5: What quality verification methods are available?
A: Mill test certificates include chemical composition, mechanical properties, and coating thickness. Adhesion test per ASTM D3359 and salt spray test per ASTM B117 available upon request.

Q6: What are key installation considerations?
A: Hidden fastening system recommended to prevent water leakage. Minimum 250mm side lap and one full corrugation end lap. Stainless steel fasteners required for coastal applications.

Q7: What warranty coverage is provided?
A: 5-year coating warranty and 10-year coating warranty for standard products. PVDF coating includes 15-year non-chalking, non-fading warranty.
